Mrs. Johnson
Welcome!
I am Mrs. Johnson. I teach Intro to Creative Art, Drawing & Painting, Jewelry & Textiles at New London High School. I enjoy teaching my love of art. My goal is to encourage students to explore different concepts, materials and techniques. Encouraging students to think outside the box will prepare them to be creative problem solvers outside of school. I am the adviser for Art Club, Art Team; which is a competitive art group, Prom committee and Visioneers Design Challenge.
Educational Background
I enjoy teaching at New London High School for the same reasons I enjoyed being a student in the New London High School; the diversity of the teaching staff and the genuine caring for the students. The inspiration from my teachers motivated me to go onto school to pursue a education degree at University of Wisconsin Green Bay. I graduated with a major in education and a minor in Art. I completed my teaching practicum at the New London High School and Middle School. I then was a full time sub in an around school districts of New London for a year and was honored to receive a teaching position here at the High School in 2005. I have currently completed my masters through Marian University for a masters in Educational Technology this last spring.
About Me
I live in New London with my husband, 2 year old twins and two cocker spaniels. I also spend a lot of my time developing my beaded jewelry business called Made With Love. I sell my pieces at five area salons. I have my own pieces on display in my studio at home and this space is filled with BEADS! Some of my other hobbies include running, lifting, volleyball and playing golf. I am an active member of the Wolf River Art League; which is a group of area artist promoting art within the community
